1915 Vintage metal jewelry box casket - ring box
A piece of history, 1900-1925 . I purchased a collection of case metal jewelry boxes recently and I am selling them individually. Some are untouched and the lining is the original lining that would now be over 100 years old. The jewel cases were cast of a base metal and then plated with copper, gold, silver or painted with an ivory enamel.
About this specific box:
This is one of the smallest boxes, the smaller boxes are ring boxes and without a manufacturer’s signature. in its prime it was gold plated. Today it is a mix of shades of patina, brass sides, top looks copper and inside is original pink silk mull /satin. This is a Neo-classic with Art NOUVEAU flowers; wild grapes / Ribbions /fleur-de-Lis; 1915 originally from Sears. 1340
